Renting A Property

The Easy Step Guide to Renting a Home Through Hale Homes :

Holding Deposit

Once you have identified a suitable rental property, you will need to pay a holding deposit which is usually equivalent to 1 weeks rent.

Please be aware that the deposit will be withheld if any relevant person fails the Right-To-Rent check, if you withdraw from the tenancy, provide misleading or false information, or fail to sign and return the tenancy agreement within 14 calendar days.

Security Deposit

The security deposit which is equivalent to 5 weeks rent is payable before the tenancy start date. The deposit, which will be held in a Government authorised tenancy deposit scheme, is held against any damages and will not be released until the end of the lease, the property is vacant and any damages assessed and agreed by the tenant and landlord.

Looking After Your Rental

Once you are settled into your rental property, it is important to report any issues such as water or gas leaks or electrical issues straight away. Make sure the heating is on a sufficiently high setting to prevent frozen pipes, especially if you are planning a winter holiday.
